It is snowing... Tell me something new. Danny has been busy getting the teams ready to start feeding the cows. The snow is so deep in Wisdom that he has to use horses to feed his cows. This is a picture from last year. Notice the lead Mare with her ears pointed. Her name is Bess, Danny's favorite. She will pull her heart out. She has bad arthritis and will no longer be in the string. Sad for both of them. She has taught Danny alot. Hopefully we can get a colt out of her next year.

Santa...

Rowdy's first encounter with Santa. He went willingly, he had CANDY! Every year the kids in Wisdom put on a Christmas play. The kids were so cute and they did a really good job. It always puts me in the Christmas sprirt to hear the kids sing Silent Night.

Grandma Geneva

My Grandma Geneva - my dad's mom, passed away on December 3rd in California. She was 86, old but not old enough. My Mom and I was able to get to Cali the day before she went. Grandma had a masive stroke on Sunday 11-29-09 and her brain couldn't recover. I'm so glad that I know what happens when the spirit leaves this world. I am very grateful for the plan of salvation. This picture was taken last October when she came to see her 1ST Great Grand child, Rowdy was 4 months old.

I decieded to paint my bedroom the other night(it looks really good by the way). I had moved all of my furniture to the center of the room. I went to get some more paint and in the mean time...Rowdy had crawled on the dog kennel and gotten on the bed. He then proceeded to jump on the bed and fell off the other side, breaking his fall was the cedar chest and the side of his face. There wasn't much blood but there was a lot of swelling. I was up most of the night checking on him to make sure that he didn't have a concussion. I'm sure that it will be the first of many!

Steelehead Fishing on the Salmon River

Danny's Steelehead was 26 inches. This one is the only one that he landed. But he had several other bites. I also landed one. It was a 28 inch female native. I had to let it go because it was a wild Steelehead. You can only keep the hatchery ones.

Down the Salmon River... My mom took us, my uncle, my two cousins and my Grandpa Steelehead fishing for my Grandpa's birthday. It was a blast. I cant believe that we have lived in Salmon for almost 11 years and had never been fishing on the Salmon. My dad would have loved it!

Rowdy and I tested positive for swine flu in the middle of October. We went to the ER in Hamilton around 6:00 with a 105 temp. It was a long night in the ER but we are doing much better. I missed a whole week of work but spent the week with Rowdy. A bitter sweet! Check out all our meds!

"Larry the Cable Guy"

Danny and I went on a much needed date Thrusday night. I think that it is the first date that we had been on in over a year. My mom picked Rowdy up from Peggy's and we headed to Missoula (a 300 mile round trip) around 3:30 for dinner and to see "Larry the Cable Guy". We ate dinner at Jaker's - mmmmm.....they have the best coconut shrimp. Larry was hilarious. I thought Danny was going to break. I had more fun watching him get a kick out of the jokes then the actual jokes! Thanks again Mom for watching Rowdy!

Words from Larry: One year my dad bought my mom a mood ring. Them things work pretty good. When she was in a good mood it was blue and when she was in a bad mood it made a red mark upside my dad’s head.

YES! It snowed here on October 7th. Rowdy LOVES the snow and it is a good thing because we have 11 months of winter and 1 month of rough sledding. O - the winters in the Big Hole. Bring on the wool socks, the crackling wood stove and the steaming hot chocolate....

Sunday Drive...

This is Rowdy's toy! I got it O - I mean Rowdy got the UV the end of June. Lets call it a late b-day present. Anyways, We love it! Rowdy and I have had so much fun with it the summer. We even took it to a gun show and drove it around! I had a heater installed for winter. Can't wait to try it out. Thinking that it needs tracks for all of the snow we get.

We went UV'ing Sunday afternoon and looked at our cows. I haven't seen them in awhile so it was fun to see how big their calves have grown. $$$ This is Danny's favorite cow, #3. She always has a bull calf!

This is my favorite cow, #2. I have had her longer than Danny!
She really dosen't care much for visitors. We chased her around trying to get a good picture but she wasn't a willing sport.

Danny decieded that we needed a new overhead going into the ranch. He found and cut down the large Fur trees. If any one is looking for us, you can't miss us with the new sign. Thanks Danny!

Rowdy's Kitties

Rowdy thinks that the puppies are kitties. He meows when he gets around them. When we go outside the first thing he does is crawl into the dog house and meows at the puppies. So, for now we have 11 little kitties! They will be two weeks old on Monday.

In the Big Hole, it takes a John Deer Tractor!! Every year about mid July, Danny takes on the task of putting up hay which feeds the cows through the tough winters. We are starting Rowdy early. Next year he should be able to bale on his own.
